Colombia, the genesis

2022 – 2025

Armenia, Quindío Colombia

The Biofilia & Art project has its roots in Colombia, where it germinated like a vision between mountains and coffee plantations, in the heart of Quindío. It was in Armenia, in an intimate meeting between Dr. Koncha Pinós and the artist Duván López, where the first conversation arose about how art could be a bridge to the deep nature that inhabits every human being. Inspired by the symbolic force of the jungles and the sensory memory of the Andean landscape, the idea of an aesthetic experience capable of healing, awakening and transforming was born. There, among native trees, songbirds and the mystique of the fertile earth, the seed of a project that today travels the world was sown inviting to reconnect with the essential: the living beauty of the planet and the consciousness that blooms when you look at it with a soul.

SCIN in the Museum of the Future: Koncha Pinós presents Biophilia and Art

During the SCIN (Sustainable Creative Art: Inspiration from Nature) event held at the iconic Dubai Museum of the Future, Dr. Koncha Pinós presented her innovative scientific work entitled Biophilia and Art: Jungles and Forests. This research explores how natural environments and artistic expressions influence individual and collective identity, from a neuroaesthetic and poetic perspective. In his speech, Pinós highlighted the power of the color green, the healing resonance of the singing of birds and the urgency of cultivating a living connection with nature. Organized by IEREK, the meeting brought together prominent figures in art, architecture and ecological design. The participation of Koncha Pinós marked a turning point by integrating science, consciousness and art as paths towards an aesthetic of care. This presentation was the prelude to the exhibition Biophilia and Art in Sharjah, where theory became a living experience.

For a month, from April 26 to May 27, 2025, more than a thousand people participated in a unique experience that combined artistic installation and nine immersive workshops. Guided by the artist Duván López and the scientific curator Koncha Pinos, the attendees explored the restorative power of the color green, the singing of birds as medicine of the soul and the way in which natural ecosystems shape our deepest identity. This exhibition not only awakened the senses, but also sowed essential questions about our relationship with the living in a region where green is a symbol of longing and hope.
