By leveraging advanced technologies like artificial intelligence and machine learning\, autonomous vehicles can revolutionize transportation\, making it safer\, more efficient\, and accessible. These vehicles have the potential to reduce accidents\, alleviate traffic congestion\, and provide mobility solutions for the elderly and disabled. Additionally\, autonomous vehicles can play a crucial role in sustainable transportation by reducing carbon emissions and optimizing energy consumption. \nAbout the Speaker \nProfessor Paul Newman leads the Oxford Robotics Institute\, which enjoys a world leading reputation in mobile autonomy – developing machines and robots which map\, navigate through and understand their environments. The group has a particular focus on transport\, including robot autonomy\, navigation\, mapping\, scene understanding and perception. Flagship projects include RobotCar UK and a complete autonomy system on small “pods” for urban use.
